For those who have not heard it, Kellen Winslow's undisclosed injury was a serious one
"Kellen Winslow's Out With...Swollen Testicles?
After a summer filled with horrifying testicular injuries in hockey and baseball, it appears Cleveland Browns tight end Kellen Winslow is also having his own nut trouble and will possibly sit out Monday Night's game against the New York Giants. Pro Football Talk, quoting a league source, says that Winslow was admitted to the Cleveland Clinic "because his balls swelled to the size of grapefruits."
It was first reported as an "undisclosed illness" and head coach Romeo Crennell seemed to think it wasn't too serious, saying "his arms and legs aren't falling off or anything like that." Notice there's no mention of the peach basket, though, which is could be in peril.
Hopefully he just slept on them the wrong way or is having some sort of odd physical reaction to new laundry detergent or something because nobody should have to be put through such torture and humiliation.
We'll update as soon as there is further clarification..."
Some how, I feel that the Steeler will have some creative music choice when they play in Pittsburgh, like AC/DC's "Big Balls". But hey, that's how soldiers do, right?

Damn Giants...
Alright, I'm just venting here. Great game Glenn!! You honestly deserved that one, with your guys comin to play and my Giants Defense OBVIOUSLY staying on the plane. I officially renounce the idea that I might actually know what I'm talking about when it comes to fantasy football. I KNOW that you guys are gonna come at my neck, basically sayin that you knew from the gate that I was a fantasy football moron anyway, and I'm okay with that. Last night's game just proved to me that there's just no way to know what's gonna happen. (Though I'm sure one of you will give multiple reasons after the fact how you knew it would happen)
And now Derek Anderson and Braylon Edwards are fantasy revelant. Good job Monty. Definitely shoulda took you up on that trade offer earlier in the week. Oh well...
Good luck in week 8 boys!! (I know I'm definitely gonna need it.)

New Side proposal: Suicide pool
I am trying to see if there is any interest in starting a suicide pool for the remainder of the season. For those not familiar, this is how it works.
Everyone in the pool pick a team that they think will win this week and puts in an established ante, say 10 dollars. No point spread, though we will keep track of scores, no ties, no player stats, just any out right win. The winner that week roll into the next week, where they pick new teams and ante up again. You cannot pick the team you picked in a previous week, ie you can only pick the Giants once during a pool. The pool continues until there is one last man standing. If there is a tie where no one wins in the last week, the winner is the man who had the high point total on the winners they picked in the previous weeks. If there is still a tie the money will be split evenly amongst the highest scoring players.
The beauty of the suicide pool is that it can last all season or one week, and we can conduct several during a season.
Just an idea to keep some low level action going for those of us who may be finishing their Fantasy Football seasons sooner rather than later. Let me know what you think or if you need me to explain any further.

League Rules for Next Year (I know...)
Okay, I know we've talked about this before, but now we have a forum to truly talk about it and make a decision for next year. (I know it's a long way away, but I need everybody to be on the same page.
Why am I bringing this back up? Because Chris, in a VERY intelligent move, picked up the Bengals Defense and cut the Ravens Defense this week. Yes, I said it. Cut the RAVENS, and picked up the Bengals!! The Bengals are 0-5, while the Ravens, having only lost one game, are truly destroying teams. So why is this a VERY cunning move? I'll tell ya...
Because the Bengals are getting destroyed in games, they're getting about 6 or 7 kick off returns a game. With an average of a 25 yard kickoff return, they get that 10 point bonus EVERY TIME! They're averaging close to 30 points for D/STs every week.
So I say all that to say this... I think we have 2 choices for next year:
A) Leave the kickoff or punt return yard bonus alone. Teams still get 10 points for reaching 100 kickoff or punt return yards. But we add negative points for teams that allow over 300 total yards of offense or more then 30 points in a game. Right now, we dont' lose points for teams that get murdered and I think we should.
B) Get rid of the kickoff or punt return yard bonus. That way, we dont' have to give negative points, but points would be more balanced and make good defenses worth more than bad defenses. A team like the Bengals would instead be averaging 20 points a week, which would be lower than the 27 point average that the Ravens have.
AGAIN, THIS IS FOR NEXT YEAR'S LEAGUE!! Right now, the goal is to take advantage of the current system and I think Chris made a very smart move. The Defenses to have in this league are the ones that lose... A LOT.... How about them Rams??
What do you guys think?

Week 7 Shit Talking sound board
Even though I vowed to stop talking shit to Kamal for the rest of the season, I thought we might have a location to start the week off right. It not be right if we did not have a locate to draw attention to ridiculous statements like:
"I need a # 2 running back... Will only listen to trades ifthey are made by a COHERENT individual and arent ASININE andFAR FETCHED!" Especially when the guy who wrote
1.) this appear to need nothing according to his previous boasting
2.) actually thought someone might be interesting in a one for one trade for Ronald Curry

Week 5 Predictions - READ ALL ABOUT IT!!!
Okay, so it's time for Benevolent Banks' (Best name I could come up with...) weekly predictions... If you're the winner for the week... rejoice.. it means you didn't play me... if you're the loser... sucks to be you... At least you still have a job...
Week 5, we'll go game by game. Winners are in bold. Of course, MY game comes first..
1) Da Home Wreckers vs. Phace Phull of Philly
I gotta admit, GREAT NAME for a team. Especially cuz we're talkin about Kamal. Unfortunately, I'm seeing a surprise win for Phace Phull this week. Peyton Manning is coming off the bye and although he's looked slightly genriatric in the last couple of weeks, Houston is always good for making an Offense look like champions. Watch out though. Teams normally run on Houston, which might mean slightly lower stats for Manning. Also gotta watch out for Greg Jennings. Who's throwing him the ball? Until a receiver can throw the ball to himself, I'm pretty sure Jennings might let you down this week too. Phace Phull is fielding this year's new Manning in Jay Cutler, a VERY strong RB duo in Peterson and Matt Forte. Although his receivers are weak, who needs receivers when you have the GIANTS DEFENSE?? 400 points for the Giants!!!!
2) Hardworkbeinthisgood vs. Smash and Grab
I gotta admit. I'm a little salty with Hardwork since he was my first loss, but I'm gonna be unbiased in this one. There's no surprise with the winner here. It's Hardwork by a landslide. Smash and Grab is starting Gus Ferotte. Your running back is Willis McGahee, who got kicked in the chest last week. Maybe Hardwork will spot him 20 points to make this a match. By the way, Eagles have the #1 D in the league... 4 points for Clinton Portis is a SERIOUS stretch. Enough said.
3) Broad Street Bullies vs. Cdubb's Crushers
Whoa... who sees a winning streak for Glenn's squad? Same guy that lost Tom Brady and was about to give up is about to absolutely BRUTALIZE Colin's squad this week. Colin!!! Go get a running back!! Believe me, Chester Taylor CANNOT save you... Let's hope Tony Romo doesn't give away another game, cuz that's Colin's only chance.
4) Don't Call It a Comeback vs. You just Lost One
Will Westbrook play this week? If not, Chris made a trade that'll cost him a win this week. You went from starting Donovan McNabb to Jon Kitna, sack machine. You're lucky that Alan has some REALLY bad running backs on his squad. Ronnie Brown might be the GREATEST one week wonder the league has ever seen. Last week you say "Dammit, I shoulda played him!!" After this week you'll say, "Why did I even draft him?" You'll see... You heard it here first!!!
5) Stamford Stomp vs. Untitled
Two teams that have had tough schedules so far, one with the ONLY tie I've ever seen in Fantasy football!! Not sure what I can say here. One team is starting Matt Cassel at QB.. the other has Trent Edwards against a tough Arizona D when it's at home. Can I just turn the channel?
6) The Praetorian Guard vs. NYPD
Okay, scratch the previous prediction. These might be two of the worst teams in the league. At least one made a trade to upgrade at QB. MAKE TRADES!! Otherwise, you'll be forced to keep fielding bad teams. I never thought I'd see a team where the marquee players are the Defense. Let's hope this game ends quickly.

Add/Drops and other gripes
Ok. This is the perfect place for this. I can't respond on the message board from work. So lets move it here.
I'm ok with charging for the add/drops. If anything it increases your stake in your team and the reward for picking well. In my opinion, the only reason to be upset about unlimited add/drops is the fact that you may not have the same opportunities to utilize the system. If I add someone to my team and drop them later all it does as far as I can tell is send you to needless emails that said I did it. Sorry for the inconvenience. If you want to win in this you have to take advntage of every opportunity you have. I can assure everyone that no move anyone has made this season was born out of frivolity given we paid to play. Obviously we all think we know something and we're all trying to build the best team we can. So if we want to retroactively begin charging $1 for add/drops..thats cool. I'll pay it. Reckon I owe a cool dub.
And James....we draft because we need a team to start with which becomes our core....we shuffle players in and out week to week based on our need for replacements (byes/injuries), our percieved potential for a player to break out, or a players non-performance. If I have an empty slot on my team. I'm going to fill it with the best player I can....if only to keep you from picking him up.
